Achema – Right Mindfulness

The following is one very interesting story, hopefully for those who read it will feel the message  "vibrating" their heart.

It is a story of a very old Zen master lying on the bed and waiting to die, when the last day comes, he announces to all "that a particular night he will pass away." All his disciples, friends come to his abode, all those far away friends who love him so much also are rushing to see him.

His chief disciple knowing that his master is going to pass away quickly rushes out to the market, someone asks him: "Your master is going to pass away, and why are you still at the market?" He replies: "In knowing that my master likes one special cake, so I need to find this cake for him." To find the cake is not easy, anyway he manages to find it before the evening, and he needs to rush back to see his master.

Everyone also is worried, it looks like this master is still waiting for some one before he leaves. Once in a while he just opens his eyes looking around and then closes again. When the chief disciple arrives, the master says: "Lastly you have come, where is the cake ?" Chief disciple quickly offers the cake, and the master is very happy to see this cake.

Death is almost coming, the master holds this cake with his hands.......but his hands never shake, although his age is very old. Someone just asks him:

"Your age is very old, and almost close to death, anytime soon you may just lose your breath, but why your hands are never shaken?"

Master replied: "I'm never shaken, due to I'm not having any fear. My body is very old but I'm still very young. Even this body goes, I'm still young!"
After that he eats this cake, from his appearance people can know how much he enjoys eating this cake. Someone just asks him: "Venerable Master, do you have any last words for us? You almost leaves us, do you have any special advice for us to remember?"

The Old Master smiling and answers: "Ah!.........This cake is very tasty!"
